Feb. 22-28, 2015 is Eating Disorder Awareness Week.
According to the National Eating Disorders Association, 20 million women and 10 million men in the United States suffer from a clinically significant eating disorder at some point in their lives. Anorexia nervosa has the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric disorder, and eating disorders are also linked to suicidality.
The awareness ribbon or bracelet color for eating disorder awareness is usually blue, green, or purple.
How you can help:
Get involved, spread the word, host a scale smash, share positive messages on social media. Attend a fundraising or awareness-raising event in your area.
